HAYDİ: Animal Status Monitoring Mobile Application

Unfortunately, today, all living beings are targets of violence and crime. A world where no living being suffers violence, cruelty, and brutality is the greatest wish of us all. Efforts to prevent crimes against animals, nature, and the environment, and to raise awareness, are increasing every day. With the HAYDİ (Animal Status Monitoring) Mobile Application, developed by the General Directorate of Security, Public Order Department, people can more easily report negative situations they encounter to the relevant institutions.

Launched in July 2020 and processed with Turkish Republic Identity Numbers to prevent complaints of abuse, the main purpose of the application is to protect living beings that are subjected to violence and harm; and to easily intervene in elements that threaten nature. In this context, to offer an effective solution, the HAYDİ mobile application, available in the world's two most widely used mobile application stores, provides an easy reporting option.

Easy Reporting of Unwanted Incidents

The application aims to increase people's awareness of their environment, and it aims to do this through smartphones, which are becoming increasingly common today. Requiring a phone call or a visit to a center to report an incident can slow down processes and delay complaints. To reduce such possibilities and increase environmentally conscious behavior, the application, which is uploaded to app stores, is very easy to use.

Depending on the mobile phone's operating system, the application needs to be downloaded from the App Store or Play Store. After downloading the application, you log in using your Turkish Republic Identity Number and date of birth. You need to use the verification code sent to your mobile phone when logging in. Although the application requests personal information, it should be emphasized that personal privacy is protected during the reporting process.

When is HAYDİ Used?

It is possible to make notifications regarding the environment, nature, and animals in the HAYDİ interface. After logging into the application, two main options are offered for reporting. These two options are:

• I want to make a report about the environment/nature,
• I want to make a report about animals.

When the "I want to make a report about the environment/nature" option is selected, you are redirected to the reporting page. On this page, there is a text box where you can write a detailed explanation about the report, and a button that you can use to add photos that you think are related to the report. Permission to communicate regarding the report is also given in this area.

When the "I want to report something about animals" option is selected, a drop-down menu appears allowing you to choose the general content of the report. This menu includes a wide variety of criminal acts, from neglecting animal care to animal fighting. After selecting one of these options, which relate to physical or psychological violence against a domestic, wild, owned, or stray animal, the next screen contains fields for writing a description of the report and uploading photos related to the report. On this screen, you can choose to grant permission for communication regarding the report.

We Owe This to Nature and Our Pawed Friends Who Embrace Us

The HAYDİ application is an essential application that must be used when our friends, who need to be protected by humans, face negative situations. Whenever we see our defenseless friends in adverse conditions, it is possible to easily reach the necessary units through this application. The practice, which gains meaning alongside other important steps taken to protect animals and nature, also helps protect animals and nature with the support of law enforcement officers who are made aware of these areas.
